Thanks for the tag Otakuu4lyphe. Okay, LETS DO THIS!

Writing meme created by TheNN

1. Introduce yourself of course. Tell us a few interests; perhaps why you're here on Deviantart, or why you choose to write instead of draw (or both).

Hello, my name is D3AD MAD HATT3R, most people just call me Hatter. I like tea (seriously, I drink an excessive amount), hats (surprise, surprise), cookies, food in general, video games, reading, writing, anime, manga, drawing, creepy stuff, cute stuff and so forth. I originally came onto DA to get back into contact with a friend, but I've grown on here since then. I do both drawing and writing. Let's skip why and what I draw and get onto the writing. I write, well, for entertainment and occasionally to release stress. It's just such a great way to create your own world, and despite the old adage ‘a picture is worth a thousand words,’ I feel it's easier to create that world with words.

2. Hmmm, that is interesting. Now that the formalities are out of the way, what do you write? (Poetry, stories, etc.)

Stories! I've written some poetry, but I'm more of a story writer.

3. I see, I see. Well, so what do you like to write about? Go on, don't be shy about it. Nobody's judging you.

Most of my writing is in the horror and gore domain. At present my story, ‘The Envelope’ is very much based on bloodshed, and some of the stuff I don't post is far more gory than any part of the story I've posted. Once I'm done with The Envelope I want to write a less gory (okay, that's a lie, it’ll probably be worse), slower paced story with a stronger focus on atmosphere, tension and mystery.

4. I wasn't quite expecting that from you, and think that I thought I knew you. Ok then, how did you really get into writing?

When I got an iPad as part of a school related thingy, (where I went, students could buy an iPad from the school and pay for it over time. Cool huh?) anyhow, I wanted to write a book, so I used the iPad.

5. Oh, I can probably relate that. You talked about why, what, and how, so, when did you really start writing?

…? Let's see… I once wrote a poem when I was 11 that got published, and I immensely enjoyed the writing section of my English GCSE, but I really started writing during my English A-Levels. It really had nothing to do with the A-Level, other than the better understanding of writing, more of a story that I am keeping private for now. (Don't bother asking about it.)

6. That long ago, really? Alright, one last little question, who got you into writing? Did you get inspired by an author, or maybe someone just got the idea into your head to write?

I can't say a particular person got me into writing, but various authors have affected my style of writing. The most influential would probably be Valerie Martin, or rather the character in her novel, Property, which I studied in my English A-level. The story is written in first person, past tense from Manon’s perspective, the central character. Manon tells us her story as a plantation owner’s wife and slave owner during 1828 (I just want to quickly point out that I am not racist and am against slavery). It's an interesting story, and the first person perspective is what influenced me the most, since Manon miss-reads, under/overestimates other characters and feeds us her opinions, but reading between the lines you see what she doesn't, and even uncover her true feeling that she tried to hide. It's that style of writing that I've been trying to replicate, but I don't feel like I've been doing a good job. Maybe in my next story.

7. Ok, ok. I suppose that's enough of 20 Questions. So why don't you go ahead and show us a paragraph or a few lines of a poem (but it's gotta be original for this, don't think I won't be watching!)

Poetry? Okay, it's more of a song but whatever.

Die Already

Why won't you just die?
I've been waiting so long for it.

The crosshairs hovered in place and so the bullet flew through you head
Yet here you are looking like you just got out of bed.
I took the club to bash in your noggin,
But now you've come to my door knockin’.
I'm not giving up, I've got to be rid of you,
Why, every time, do you turn up out of the blue?

I throttled the car straight into you, dropping you to the floor,
Now you're getting back up for more!
I've tried using the chainsaw, and the IED, and the blowtorch
All it ever comes to is seeing you, alive and well, on my front porch.
No matter how much I fill you with lead
You just won't stay dead.

I've already dug your grave,
Six feet deep for once you've expired
Another foot just to be brave.
The furnace was ready
The cremation of your body, so tired,
Please, just die already!

Forty seven stabs to you chest,
Seriously, I'm trying my best!
With this razor blade I take a slash at your throat,
Now I'm finally ready to throw your corpse over the boat.
Wait, what now? You get up to reclaim your cardboard crown?
No! No! I'll see that you drown!

With the shotgun I gave you a buck shot to the brain,
But you keep coming like you've got something to gain.
The axe is used to chop you into little pieces
Here you come now! It never ceases.
It's an endless battle between you and I,
Neither one of us willing to die.

I've already dug your grave,
Six feet deep once you had expired
Another foot just to be brave.
The furnace was ready
The cremation of your body, so tired,
Please, just die already!

You really are driving me to madness
All your bodies leave me bottomless.
You're like the villain from a slasher,
Only somewhat brasher.
You're all I can think about at this point!
If only I could cover you in oil and snap your every joint,

Then I could just throw away the match,
And watch you burn away into a black patch.
If only I had been more clever,
Then maybe this wouldn't go on forever.

Why won't you just die?

8. Ah, quite touching. I suppose that's all I can really say for this one dear writer within this art site. If you know any other writers, feel free to forc....erm..."politely ask" any other writers you know here, to give their hand at filling this thing out.

Thanks. It's the longest poem I've written. also I do like manga and anime too. I haven't watched or read as many as I'd like, but I do enjoy them.

If you don't want to write a poem maybe do an extract from one of your past stories, or just do a super tiny story. It's really your choice.

That was what I was thinking, but using old work seemed like cheating to me lol. I will get something done soon.
